Learning intentions

By the end of the retreat, you will:

  • Be ready to act as expert trainers for your colleagues so that your entire maths team can implement the Maths Pathway Learning Model effectively; trainers will be equipped to build teacher capacity at their school to deliver a maths course which is balanced, meaningful and impactful.
  • Be equipped as change leaders to skillfully manage a smooth transition to the new learning model, with careful plans in place for school leadership, parents, students and classroom teachers.
  • Be part of a nation-wide community of maths teachers driving reform throughout the system, who share resources, learnings and insights with each other on an ongoing basis – with a common commitment to driving improved maths learning outcomes.

Who should attend?

Most schools send their maths coordinator to the retreat, although other teachers with strong leadership capabilities are also very welcome. 2 or 3 teachers in total from your school is usually ideal.
