NSW Trainer Retreats
A 2 day intensive retreat equipping you with an understanding and delivery of the Maths Pathway Learning and Teaching Model. You will build teacher capacity to obtain a maths course which is balanced, meaningful and impactful. You will learn how to manage a smooth transition with plans for school leadership, parents, students and classroom teachers.

By the end of the retreat, you will:
- Be ready to act as expert trainers for their colleagues so that the entire maths team can implement the Maths Pathway Learning Model effectively; trainers will build teacher capacity to obtain a maths course which is balanced, meaningful and impactful.
- Be equipped as change leaders to skillfully manage a smooth transition to the new learning model, with careful plans in place for school leadership, parents, students and classroom teachers.
- Be part of a nation-wide community of maths teachers driving reform throughout the system, who share resources, learnings and insights with each other on an ongoing basis – with a common commitment to driving maths learning outcomes.
Who should attend?
Most schools send their maths coordinator to the retreat, although other teachers with strong leadership capabilities are also very welcome. 2 or 3 teachers in total is usually ideal.

Meals and accommodation
All meals from morning tea on the first day to afternoon tea on the last day are included. Attendance at the dinner on the first night is required to be eligible for PD hours, giving you an opportunity to network and engage with like-minded teachers.
The $700 price includes all meals from morning tea on Thursday, to afternoon tea on Friday. It also includes Thursday night twin share accommodation. A private room is an extra $100 per person each night.
Arriving night before event
For geographical reasons, some teachers prefer to arrive the night before the Retreat. One extra night's accommodation is an additional $100 per night, per person.
You will receive 18 PD hours. AITSL Standards addressed:
